Like the original 16-50mm lens, this model provides satisfying optical quality that matches modern sensors, a short minimum focus distance for versatile photography, and pleasing background defocus. New on this model is updated electronics and actuators that allow it to keep up with new rapid-focusing models, as well as enabling continuous focus during zoom, perfect for video capture. In addition, the new model is able to work hand-in-hand with in-body image stabilisation, enabling more powerful Active Stabilisation than ever before.
